SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENT:
TEXT: In the 50th edition of IndieRE we take you on a ride through the exciting music of Germany’s alternative and independent scene, we’ve collected a truckload of current releases for you. We start with an interview and two songs of the dream-pop duo »SHE OWL« about their new record »Invisible Heart«. We continue with punk, spiced up with delite effects by »SPLIZZ« and »SHARIZZA«. From here we take a turn to electronic, wavy and funky music by »TOMY SUIL« & »ZOUJ«, at this point we take a little stop to invent our category called »fesch« to show you the german pop-artist »NAND« with his song »Dachlatte«. The flowing genre traffic gets crashed by »CAVA«, the garage-duo takes us to an interview about their upcoming album »Damage Control«. We end our tour with some krautrock, not the smooth kind like Kraftwerks Autobahn, but rough high-speed mathrock by »HALBTAL«.

You are listening to the IndieRE Broadcast produced by Radio Corax from Halle (Saale) in Germany. IndieRE is an EU Radio Exchange Program. Eight different countries take part and present weekly their local musical highlights and their music scene. This is the second part of the project and our first show in this period. We are Joshi and Luise, counted together we are active as Radio journalists for 11 Years.
We will present you two interviews, one with the band She Owl in the second part of our show we will listen to the interview with Cava, they are both releasing new albums at the moment.
She Owl is a dream-pop duo using various instruments and a loop station, originally they are from italy but unlike owls, but like other birds they have a nomadic lifestyle. We asked them to send a voicemail in italian at this point we want to send greetings to radio popolare in italy, a radio station that was part of the last IndieRE project, we miss you.

Splizz are playing punk music in a soft way. I saw this band last month in a venue up a hill in an old garden. Splizz are on tour right now, their last station will be Vienna on 30th April, greetings to our colleagues to austria. Splizz sent us a message from their rehearsal room. We are going to listen to their last song from their debut album called »Welle«.

Sharizza aka, franny fransen played in different band in our region Halle/Leipzig, like EXWHITE, and the female band Hot Chicks. I was very surprised and happy when I heard that she released her first solo album on the 11th of February . I love her sound, especially the sound of this scene. DIY scratchy, lovely, delayed and especially the distorted reverb, which you can notice on different kinds of albums in that scene. She is an absolute powerful woman and artist, we want to share the song »Alien Company« with you.
Tomy Suil is a theater actor & electronic-loop-artist. Who usually plays Charango, a small string instrument from Chile, don’t confuse it with an Ukulele! Tomy sings in spanish, german and englisch. We have a message from him to you in spanish, greetings to our indieRE partner EMA-RTV in Sivilla.

Funky, catchy, our local hit highlight is Zouj, the glitch-pop artist from Leipzig. He released his last mixtape called »Metal« in September 2022. Soon he will play at the MENT Festival in Ljubljana on the 29th of march, don’t miss it. We’ll Listen to the song »Delete after Death«.
For our IndieRE show we invented a category called “Fesch”. Were we will play a popular – but not yet mainstream – song in german. Today I will show you the artist Nand:
Nand is the solo project of Ferdinand Kirch from Würzburg. Nand is doing electronic music, he creates wavy pop-beats often spiced up with a trumpet that he plays live on stage. I was very happy to see him live at the Apple Tree Garden Festival, the international Line-Up would fit our “Fesch” category, also apart from Germany. The lyrics of his songs mainly deal with emotions, some are romantic or melancholic. But I want to present you his most recent release, which is called »Dachlatte« – german word for roof batten, which is also a synonym for an idiot. As you might can imagine, this is a song about rage. Nand sings about the egoistic attitude of some asshole, I think every listener imagines a specific unpleasant person while listening to it.
Cava has a harsh, rough and hard sound. Which is great because, somehow, their lovely vocals are a perfect contrast to that.

AKU is a band from Leipzig, part of the diy record label »Of Bits and Pieces«, their new single came out on February the 10th. We see again radio Corax is about punk music. A song 1:40 short. Can always make it into our shows.
Again you can notice the delayed vocals. Similar to the song from Shrissas album.
This is a common effect, which is frequently used by a lot of bands in our region.

SHORT BIO OF THE JOURNALISTS:
Joshi (Joshua) works as a social worker in Halle, but is active in the independent music scene since more than 16 years as a booker, stage manager, DJ & live technician. He made his first steps on the radio 2012/2013 at Radio Marš in Slovenia.
Luise moved to Halle to volunteer as a technician at Radio Corax, after that she started and graduated a job education as a audio-visual editor. Beside running three radio shows she plays guitar and sings in two punk bands called »Britney’s Fears« & »Whip Legs«.
