INDIE-RE #66 BY RADIO CORAX, HALLE (SAALE)
SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENT:
The 66th edition of IndieRE produced by Radio Corax Halle mainly features local DIY rock and punk bands as well as solo projects and by that, it introduces the listener to a really vivid and dedicated music and concert scene around Halle and Leipzig. Also, to look over a rim of a tea cup, the show presents two rap artists from Berlin and Halle who recently released new singles.
TEXT:
The local punk music scene in Halle and Leipzig can only be so vivid through its characters who play in (sometimes several) bands, do solo projects, organize concerts, record and release music from one another and just get together and connect. Some of those characters will be introduced to you on the show, such as Frankie (Halle) who plays in a band but also just released her self-recorded solo debut and is quiet active in organizing concerts in the local area. Also, the Leipzig based band Wrackspurts that is around for quiet a while now talk about their latest album and the featured song »Endhaltestelle«.
To close up the show, we will listen to what’s new in hip hop and rap in Berlin and Halle and hear what rap artist Alice Dee has to say about their single »Komm« which comes with a fine music video.

SHORT BIO OF THE JOURNALISTS:
Luise moved to Halle to volunteer as a technician at Radio Corax, after that she started and graduated a job education as an audio-visual editor. Besides running three radio shows she plays guitar and sings in two punk bands.
Lena Ulrich is a student of art history in Halle (Saale). She is a member of the music editorial at Radio Corax since 2021. A special interest lies in the history of punk, electronic music and music productions in capitalist societies.

TEXT FROM THE FEATURED SONG (SAME AS THE JINGLE TEXT):
Exwhite is a Halle based call-in band whose head and heart is Jonas who also is the founder of the independent label Turbo Discos. Now, in May 2023, the new album “This is future” has been released not only on the local Turbo Discos label but also on Berlin based label Mangel as well as Portland (OR) based label Spared Flesh Records. Have fun when listening to “This is future” by Exwhite, brought to you by Radio Corax in Halle, Germany.
TEXT:
Exwhite is well-known in Halle’s DIY music scene and throughout Germanys self-releasing punk heads. Exwhite already released a couple of cassettes, EPs and LPs such as “Disco”, a cassette that has been released by Phantom Records in 2019 or “Estray”, a 12 inch mini album that has been released on Turbo Discos in 2022. One may find Exwhite releases in well-stocked record stores in eastern and western Germany but for the most part, the band remains a secret tip. “This is future” is the first Exwhite long-playing album on vinyl.
